Having One too Many
It has come to the attention of the Council that of late there have been instances of Members who, having had one drink too many, fell into a state of severe inebriation and who then:
(a) loudly and aggressively demanded from the bar staff they be served more drinks, despite the reluctance of the said staff who were concerned about the Member’s personal safety; and / or
(b) went on to sleep in the Tudor / Sports Bar and, on closing time, refused to be awakened from slumber to go home, despite repeated staff entreaties
This misbehaviour is not only unbecoming but greatly increases the danger to life and limb of the Member if he suffers a nasty fall, while also subjecting the Society to added cost of extended air-conditioning and staff overtime.
Henceforth, should such situations arise, the F&B Supervisor on duty is now fully authorised to:
(a) refuse, if in his opinion the Member has had one drink too many, to serve any more drinks;
(b) if the Member raises a ruckus, to call the Security Guard to call on the offending Member to leave the Club / go home; and
(c) upon further non-compliance, to call the Police to come and assist in the matter.
Non-cooperation of a Member in this regard is deemed a very serious misconduct and he will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee to mete out appropriate punishment which may include a monetary fine, suspension or expulsion.
Please note that the rate for the Superior rooms is RM145.00nett and the rate for the Deluxe rooms is RM165.00 nett with immediate effect. Bookings of the accommodation rooms provided by the Society is to be used for the sole purpose of lodging only. No unlawful or immoral activities should be carried out while occupying such rooms. Room guests found to have abused this privilege shall be ordered to quit the room immediately and the booking Member shall be disciplined in accordance with the Rules of the Society.
